As many may know, Lyoto Machida was trained in Bushido Karate by his father, a native of Japan, who migrated to Brazil as a young man. Lyoto was raised in a dojo, and here is a video showing a short history of his father, and Lyoto’s motivation for UFC 98, and martial arts. This is a video I found on Fight Ticker:

I just posted a YouTube video that I made with my brother. The video is of O Soto Gari, a Judo throw. I didn’t notice at the time I made it that my brother’s kids were in the background talking and asking him questions. I thought it was funny so I left it in. Also, after you watch the video, go check you the next video which is highlights of Judo throws in competition. It’s pretty good and give a good demostration of how Judo can be used (at least in competition).

Brock Lesnar has become the dominant heavyweight fighter in the UFC today. He has gone from a NCAA Champion, WWE Champion to the UFC Heavyweight Champion, and dominated in all three. He has only had three fights in the octagon, but has shown that he is a force to be reckoned with. Look at this highlights video which shows a Lesnar’s history from the wrestling mat to the UFC Octagon. It will be interesting to see where Lesnar goes in MMA and the UFC.
